My passion in design and construction has been the force behind my garments. They are unique, individual and available only in limited production. I have keen interest in visual art, creating surfaces using oil paint, clay, limestone, threads and fibres. It is hard to define my favourite medium. I can see using textile as a medium, would allow me to produce garments as forms to create movement and space. The fabric surface becomes my palette as I explore colour, texture, light and shape.

Fluidity is my focus, whether soft wool, silk or sculptural wire. I like my garments to be wearable yet make a statement. The beauty and versatility of fine merino wool tops allow me to create very fine wool fabrics that mingle with silk as if born as one. These natural fibres can be hand- dyed, creating beautiful tonal variations and intriguing surfaces. I primarily use hand felting techniques to create unique one- off fabrics and I like to construct the garment or part of the garment and the fabric at the same time.

I am also an art teacher running my art school offering art education to students at different levels. I like my designs to inspire students who have a particular interest in the textile and fashion area in their own personal exploration and expression. I would also like to devote more of my time in the near future to producing my designs in a small scale to share with people who have a likewise interest in wearing my designs.
