The last eighteen months have been fantastic for me. Finally realizing I am a product and that I need marketing, trying to establish myself on a more national level as an Artist and tutor. Believing that the best way to market myself as a tutor (as I would never make money with a production line) I entered Fashion Fantasy, held in Tasmania’s Wrest Point Casino. The two garments entered won my sections and took out Supreme Award of the competition/exhibition. Feeling very elated and now with the belief that my garments were ‘working’ for me, I entered Fashion Flair and Fantasy, held at the National Museum of Canberra. This time my breath was completely taken away (and I am still smiling) I entered three Sections, won my three sections and was Supreme Award Winner of the Competition/Exhibition.

Seeing one’s garments under full lighting on a catwalk, witnessing the audience response is truly food for the soul. I participate yearly in the Art to Wear Exhibition in Sydney and Perth, create artworks for specific projects and galleries, Australia wide. Participation is my motivation. Working to a goal, I place imaginary boundaries on myself, eg. theme, colour, research as I find my mind ‘astral planes’ off in too many tangents. I have taught Fibre Art for many years, 12 years at Kuringai Art Centre, specialist workshops at Fibre Forum, USQ McGregor Winter & Summer School, Flying Arts Program, textile groups etc. I regularly exhibit, in Regional Galleries, at the Headmasters Gallery, Australian Image Gallery, Art to Wear Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Recently my work was in London, Alexandra Palace and the Botanic Gardens

Numerous articles have been published, including profiles in numerous Express Publications, plus articles for the American Quilt Arts, Machine Embroidery, Country Craft, Country Looks, Vogue, Womens Day, Textile Fibre Forum and Australian Textile Arts & Surface Design assoc. I am also a member of numerous Textile related groups including The Society of Arts & Crafts of NSW. Australian Textile Arts & Surface Design Association, more recently with my passion of Computer Digitizing with the Machine I participate in internet computer groups. Time is my enemy, I don’t have enough of it. I want to spend more time teaching- especially teens, creating and exploring textiles in my studio, promoting my love of textiles via Competitions like Fashion Fantasia, actively participate in ATASDA and other groups and somehow have time to play.
